I started Kiaido Ryu Martial Arts in 1997 in the Thames dojo under Hanshi Lance and Kyoshi Ava. I trained there for a number of years, obtaining my first-degree black belt and instructor certification in 2002.
My passions within Kiaido Ryu include kata (forms), weapons, sparring and women’s self-defence. I love how much martial arts has challenged and pushed me outside my comfort zone both physically and mentally. Sharing my love of martial arts with students and seeing them grow and develop, celebrating their successes is a real highlight for me as an instructor and martial artist.
