Hi, I’m Sensei Mike. I trained under Shihan Phil Murray for more than a decade. Now, I co-run the dojo alongside Renshi Sam, continuing the legacy and dedication to the art. Family is at the heart of everything we do – my brother Sensei Hamish, my two sons Dai Sempai Oliver and Flynn, and my 73-year-old mother, a yellow belt herself, all share in this journey. In my experience, there are two essential skills everyone should learn: how to swim and how to defend themselves.
These are not just physical skills but fundamental tools for navigating life’s challenges. Kiaido Ryu has been a source of strength, peace, and joy throughout my life, guiding me through difficult times and enriching my journey. If you seek to grow stronger, both in body and spirit, I invite you to join us in training. It’s more than just martial arts; it’s a path to resilience and a deeper connection to family. Come train with us and be part of something truly special.
